Who ever put together the card for UFC ON FOX 2 was not playing around. We have already shared our UFC picks for the main events, but the rest of the card is stacked as well and deserves some attention. See who we like in the rest of the night’s fights.

After Rousimar Palhares declined what would have been a dream match-up between him and Demian Maia, the UFC was forced to scramble for an equally sensational opponent for the division’s top grappler.

Odds makers had one of their richest days ever several years ago when the undefeated New England Patriots went into the Super Bowl against a team they had already beaten during the season, and lost. That year, the New York Giants gave the Las Vegas sports books a post-Christmas present. Typically, the betting public places their money on the favorite, which is why odds makers alter the betting lines in order to swing gamblers towards the underdog. In some cases it works, and in others, the favorite is considered to be too strong, as was the case when New England took their undefeated record into the Super Bowl in 2008. Patriots, Giants Win Nailbiters, Set Up Super Bowl Rematch

The New York Giants capitalized on two special teams turnovers to steal the NFC Championship with an overtime road win over the San Francisco 49ers. The New England Patriots won the AFC Championship when Baltimore Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff did his best Scott Norwood impression, missing a chip shot field goal that would have sent that game to overtime.

And so we have a rematch of one of the worst Super Bowls in recent memory, when the 18-0 Patriots choked away their perfect season against a mediocre Giants squad not unlike this one.

In addition to trying to get along without superstar point guard Chris Paul, the Los Angeles Clippers seem to be fighting their long, woeful history. They were out of sorts in a 108-79 loss at Utah on Tuesday night, falling to 1-38 all-time at EnergySolutions Arena. The Clippers return home Wednesday night to complete their third game in three consecutive days against defending champion Dallas, another team Los Angeles has struggled against. The Clippers have not defeated the Mavericks in the regular season since Nov. 9, 2008, losing 10 in a row.

Broncos Patriots Line

This Saturday the New England Patriots will host the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs. The Broncos advanced to face the top-seeded Patriots with a thrilling 29-23 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers. These two teams should be pretty familiar with one another. Less than a month ago, New England went into Denver and came away with a 41-23 win, snapping the Broncos six game winning streak. Denver will be out to overcome big odds for a second straight week.
